Elena Ovecina (Rostov-na-Donu, Russia, 1986) is an artist of Russian origin. She grew up in Milan, Italy, where she currently lives and works.
“I was seven when I received a Polaroid as a present. As a grown up, I continued to photograph people, choosing actors as subjects. I love to portray new talents, young models, actors and actresses, not only because I love cinema, but also because I want to capture spontaneity and emotion in my pictures. My main characters are nostalgic and strange mute creatures who can mime their thoughts. They are lost in their memories. I am inspired by my childhood memories, my emotions, everyday life and movies.
